Advice: In DOUBT? Do not buy! Question: How to differentiate between a few Expos with a lot of parallel imported baby products and other Expos? Just go to their Facebook page. Some call themselves wholesale and supply store and organise expo because NO retailers would resell their parallel-imported products. If they promote products ONLY, likely they are parallel importers and use consumers innocence to sell their parallel imported products. If they promote product AND company AND booth number, it is likely a sincere event organiser who helps its tenants (distributors) to promote their brands and wants to offer consumers a wide range of the latest products at affordable prices. Why are parallel imported products sometimes so cheap? The p-importers piggy bag on the marketing & advertising efforts by the authentic distributors, they do not work with retailers who deserve commission for the shelf space, staff and service provided and they compromise in terms of service and warranty. Worst of all, the dont have control over the source of the products and have nowhere to go in case of claims. If they say they DO provide warranty, they may not be able to live up to it, or at best at their own expense. Since no principal will replace the malfunctioning parallel imported products. At the Facebook pages of the brand owners, like smallsmallworld, contoursbabysg, babyhyperstore, you will find endorsements of the events authorised distributors attend and the resellers they support. Want to know for sure whether it is a parallel importer? Request them for a letter from the principal which names them as a distributor in Singapore and see what happens.....
