Advice Issued For: Goongerah Fire Origin: 5 K SW OF GOONGERAH Incident Name: GOONGERAH-JOYS CREEK Issued: 27/01/14 12:25 PM This Advice message is being issued by Department of Environment and Primary Industries for Goongerah and Martins Creek. There are multiple bushfires near Goongerah that are not yet under control. Fire fighters continue to work on establishing control lines near the township. Warmer weather over the next week will see an increase in fire activity. There is currently no threat to communities, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions. Bonang Road is open. Snowy River National Park east of Snowy River including Yalmy Road remains closed. Errinundra and Lind National Parks also remain closed. The next update is expected by 28/01/14 12:00 PM or as the situation changes. Safety Information: Review your bushfire survival plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes. If you have time check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions. If you are experiencing smoke exposure, seek medical advice or call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024. Anyone using Bonang Road should remain alert and aware of fire vehicle traffic. Stay Informed: Via depi.vic.gov.au. Tune to ABC Local Radio, commercial and designated community radio stations, or Sky News TV. Call the Victorian Bushfire Information Line (VBIL) on freecall 1800 240 667.
