Advice Issued For: Kevington, Knockwood, Ten Mile, Burnt Bridge Fire Origin: 15 KM WNW MATLOCK Incident Name: BIG RIVER - FRENCHMANS CREEK T Issued: 17/01/14 6:46 PM This Advice message is being issued by Department of Environment and Primary Industries for Kevington, Knockwood, Ten Mile, Burnt Bridge. Firefighters are continuing to work in steep country on the bushfire 15 KM WNW MATLOCK area. The fire has burnt 50 hectares and is not yet under control. A wind change expected around midnight may shift the direction of the fire. The fire may travel in a more easterly direction towards Woods Point, and then a more north- easterly direction towards the communities between A1 Mine Settlement and Paradise Point. Smoke may be visible from nearby communities and roads. There is currently no threat to communities, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions. Campers along the Upper Big River Road are advised to leave the area. The Big River Road is closed to all traffic except emergency vehicles between Jamieson - Eildon Road and Eildon - Warburton Road. Stay up to date with road closures at vicroads.vic.gov.au. The next update is expected by 18/01/14 3:00 AM or as the situation changes.
