Advice Issued For: Telangatuk East, Toolondo, Rocklands, Hynes, Cherrypool, Nurrabiel, Mockinya, Brimpaen, Glenisla, Glenisla Crossing, Woohlpooer Fire Origin: 17KM NE OF BALMORAL Incident Name: ROCKLANDS - REES RD Issued: 07/01/15 12:06 PM This Advice message is being issued by Department of Environment and Primary Industries for Telangatuk East, Toolondo, Nurrabiel, Mockinya. The Rocklands - Rees Road fire in the Black Range State Park, 17KM NE OF BALMORAL is still not yet under control. The fire is becoming more active in the southern section of the fire, due to unpredicable weather conditions. The fire is burning around and over containment lines. Aircraft, crews and machinery are currently working in this area. Communties to the South of this fire such as Balmoral, Rocklands, Mooralla, and Glenisla are experiencing increased smoke visibility from this fire. High temperatures, northerly wind and thunderstorms are predicted today which may change fire behavior very quickly. There is currently no threat to communities, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions. Community Meetings for residents will be held today at the following locations: 12:00pm at the Toolondo Recreation Reserve Smoke may be visible from nearby communities and roads. Road Closure: Rocklands - Cherrypool Road The following Park areas are CLOSED: The entire Black Range State Park. Red Rock Bushland Reserve. Mt Talbot Scenic Reserve. Daahal Bushland Reserve. Connangarach 144 Bushland Reserve. For further information please visit parks.vic.gov.au Campers are asked to stay away from Mountain Dam and Brodies Campgrounds at Rocklands. A map of the fire perimeter is available on the VicEmergency website: emergency.vic.gov.au The next update is expected by 07/01/15 3:00 PM or as the situation changes. Safety Information: Review your bushfire survival plan. If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes. If you have time check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions. If you are experiencing smoke exposure, seek medical advice or call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024.
