Advice Please! Repost from Stacy This is likely a silly question, I am sure I know the answer, I just want other parents opinion. We need extra seating and since we filled bankruptcy last year our credit suck and I am unwilling to pay about 20% interest on a new SUV or VAN. I found a used 2001 Caravan on a local buy, sale and trade site. I am interested in buying it because it is only $2,000 and it will due for a while until our credit it better. Anyhow... I talked to the owner about setting up a time to see it. She said that the middle seat does not have the same color material as the other seats. Also the middle seats have built in 5 point harness toddler seats. I goggled it and it looks interesting, but dated. Is this a fad from the 90s? Would the seat belts on the restraint be dry rotted after all these years? Are seat belts from 2001 still going to be good? I remember reading in the information booklet from a car seat I had that it should not be used in vehicles manufactured before 2005. Should I just deal with the high interest rate and get at lest a newer used vehicle? We are open for foster care and waiting for a placement, but if we get more than one kid right now we will not have enough seating for the whole house to leave at one time. I am not sure what to do.
