Advice from the Prevention & Wellness Services: Finals are here. With a little persistence, you’ll do great! Persistence: voluntary continuation of a goal; directed action in spite of obstacles, difficulties, or discouragement. Make a schedule o In addition to your study time, dont forget to factor in some intermittent breaks as well as time for meals, hygiene, sleep, and friends. Now that you’ve made a schedule, start early o Start early so that you aren’t cramming in the end. Prioritize your To-Do list o Compartmentalize big tasks into smaller ones, and vary your work to maintain interest. Limit your blocks of studying time to no more than 2 hours on any one course at a time o Fit in some free-time and take breaks in between those 2 hours. Review your notes immediately after study sessions o After working with others or once you’ve changed study environments, read through your notes to reinforce what you’ve been learning.
