Advice needed from people experienced in the hand raising of dormice please. Mouse found him on the stable floor this morning after 2 days of trying to locate the pitiful squeaking. He was cold immobile and jumping with fleas. Hes had a drink, half milk half water and is now all jolly, if youre holding him but crying when you put him in his box. Where do we go from here? Cant find his own nest that he presumably fell from. Mouse also found this nest of redstarts under the bumper of the truck shortly before driving back to the UK,obviously they were attempting to stow away undetected. The parents had been feeding them on our return from car trips( waiting in the trees and hearing their return). We moved them under some junk in the area the car was normally parked and the parents found them straight away and carried on feeding them. I was never really in to birds but their intelligence is beginning to pique my interest.
