Advice on DC cable and coax runs. I used to install equipment in Police and Fire equipment. Some rules I followed were this. Look twice and cut once. Watch for hidden plastic conduits. If it feels thick... Question it. Pull up carpets. I once cut a wire under carpet in a caravan and a wire in a ford truck and i thought I checked everything! Look for existing portals and grommets as well as rubber boots. I usually found somewhere open near the steering column or brake lever cable route. Be very very careful where and how you cut. I favored the drivers side for dc runs and the passenger side for coax runs. Many newer cars have the interior fabrick glued to the metal. Use the plastic trim for routing. Measure measure measure and inspect everything. Back in the day Honda was tight. GM glued everything. Ford and Dodge were easy. Just make sure also to make a drip point on power and coax lines to prevent water from entering the cabin. Also be careful of mounting screws into dash. Computer are unforgiving.
