Advice received by Donald Reid, this for Thursday, November 20th: Inexperience (sometimes), You want to reach a goal but in order to do so you might have to trust a Master or guide who will help you overcome obstacles Initially, you will have the innocence of a child but then, thanks to experience, you will finally reach self-awareness. Today your intellectual level is 18%: try to relax in front of your favourite film.Your physical level is 62%: a perfect day for facing various challenges. Your emotional level is 27%: today it is advisable to postpone every discussion, even with friends! You are very scrupulous, watching carefully over those in your midst but you sometimes use ways which irritate work partners. Dont get carried away by a partners insinuations and try to maintain an iron will. Only in this way will you be able to triumph. See you tomorrow. -------------------------------------- NOTE: One thing for sure, I am not a good fundraiser .... I can´t even seem to get people to open my postings and I have my doubts as to how many even know what we are really doing and the purpose of the farm school. Secondly, I am getting a little old and my health (especially with my lungs) is bad ... I mean really bad. My income, Social Security benefits, is below the poverty level. And with the ONG, a legitimate Brazilian charity and a separate entity, we are all volunteers. The ONG is responsible for its own debts ... I am responsible for mine. BUT ... each month I find myself paying for the organization. I pay bills based on priority ... and this priority means the highest (and those that could shut the school down) get paid first ... like energy, animal rations, telephone and poor paid workers. Food for staff and workers and transportation costs like moto-taxis next. And last of all personal expenses like medicines, laundry, haircuts, etc. This priority system sometimes ticks people off ... because, of course, they are more important that the others .... eeeeeee ... In reality, one of the most important items that keeps getting set aside is the water pump repair but the cost of this is more (twice as much) as I receive. Why should a water pump cost this much? Because the original (the burnt out one) was imported from Germany 8 years ago ... and I now trying to replace with a Brazilian equivilant. It is a complete three phase system, not just a pump. And we have to pay CASH. If I had a stack of supporter pledges that would be different. Using my own credit backed by the pledges, the bank would OK the pump. So, please read the attached link and try to understand the importance of the pledge system. expatsinbrasil/farm-school-donations/
