Advice to Preachers #88: Be careful of what you preach and teach the people, for if you get Jesus wrong, then everything else will be wrong. Every preacher will one day stand before the judgment seat of Christ and will be examined (judged) for every action, deed, word spoken and doctrine taught to the people (2 Cor. 5:10, Ecc. 12:14). It is appointed to man once to die - then the judgment - and our actions here on this planet will follow us into eternity. This is why it is very important that the preacher humble him/herself before the Lord and not get caught up into false doctrine and false teachings. Once the preacher fails in this area and begins to dabble into heresies, false teachings, he (or she) then becomes guilty of deceiving the people and God will judge. Sometimes that judgment is being exposed, other times it is a demotion by the Lord, and in the most extreme case it is the ultimate judgment - death. Yes, God still takes a servants home via judgment (1 Cor. 5:5). The truth is this dear preacher, where much is given, much is required (Luke 12:48). God promises to raise you up to reach the people for Christ, however, should you allow pride, false teachings, greed (the love for money), or even deception to take root in your heart, the Lord himself will deal with you and bring to you selective judgments to bring about repentance, but if that does not change your path, then God has no choice but to remove you completely from this world prematurely. Hes done it in the past and he still does it today. Its a dangerous thing to teach the people falsely and think its going to slip past the Father - it wont, and you will get caught. Stay in the safety of the cross, stay in that foundational truth found only in Christ and what he did on Calvary, because anything outside the cross, outside the blood is another gospel and another path away from the Lord, and then that leads to apostasy, which many have sadly went and God has sadly judged (Gal. 1:8-9). Stay in the cross preacher.
