Advisers to exporters A recently published study recaps how many companies in Puerto Rico are averse to export their products or services. As with importing, exporting requires access to resources and information to facilitate the process and reduce uncertainty. The Puerto Rico District Export Council (PRDEC) is an initiative sponsored by the US Commercial Service, through which representatives of various companies, active in international trade, can provide technical assistance to individuals and businesses interested in undertaking export activities. This nonprofit organization provides local experts certified by the US Department of Commerce, who are active in international trade, providing voluntary assistance along with other representatives of the federal and state government. Among the services provided to promote exports, PRDEC recently signed an agreement with the Guayacan Venture Accelerator to provide technical advice, guidance and support to participating local business who want to pursue international markets and exports, running from August to December 2014.
