Joel Goldsmith There is no question that we must come to our deepening relationship with the Divine Spirit in an atmosphere of patience. It takes time and right use of energies to even begin to achieve the closeness we desire. We all know how attractive and intrusive our physical lives are, ever more so as we live in a world constantly erupting with new technologies. I remember a time when we had to go to a movie house to see visual news, which was often well after the facts. Now, the latest news can appear on our iPads any hour of the day. This is all to say that the wonder of accessibility to constant information has a price and that is the capacity to be consistently distracted. Dr. Ernest Holmes said that the will of God is always good. It becomes our task to be in a clear mental space of receptivity to this good, and this takes the patience to be quietly open. So many think there is a right way to approach the Presence, but it is not so much that we do it right as that we simply do it. Patiently, we train the mind to turn to God with greater ease, the willingness to receive and the trust that we live in the flow of good. We may sometimes have to sort out lots of flurry, but the nuggets of peace and love always lie within, simply awaiting our efforts to sweep away the clatter and noise.
