Affordable Care Act exemptions: The Affordable Care Act lists 9 categories of individuals who are excluded from the new requirements and will not be required to purchase health insurance coverage in 2014. The largest categories include people who earn too little to file federal tax returns (about 43% of Americans), and those for whom insurance would eat up more than 8% of their income. Does it bother anyone else that nearly HALF of all Americans (43%) do not make enough money to have to pay income tax??? And the present administration seems to think that this is a healthy economy???
