African finance ministers have selected Malawi’s former finance minister Maxwell Mkwezalamba to represent their countries on International Monetary Fund board as Executive Director. Mkwezalamba is expected to represent Malawian addition to 21 other countries of the IMF board. He was competing against Former RBM general manager, Wilson Banda and former RBM governor, Elias Ngalande who were all nominated by the Malawi government for the position as it now Malawi’s turn to provide a director for the Africa Group Constituency on the board for the next two years.
