After 11 amazing years I have to decided to step down from my nursing career to stay home with my kiddos. I will miss the challenges, fulfillment, excitement, being loved by my patients (well most of them : ), the overwhelming physical pain/exhaustion a nurse feels at the end of their shift and the willingness to experience the torture all over again, continuously searching for ways to save even a minute, the ability to hold my bladder for 6 + hours, the emotional ups and downs, debriefing/debating, researching, internalizing, intimidation, collaboration, my AMAZING co-workers/team mates, constant laughter/humor, being reminded everyday how fortunate we are to be cancer free, being complimented in the weirdest ways, constantly being blown away by the strength of others, earning trust, and most importantly being that nurse that made the whole experience just a little less frightening and a little more fun. To all my co-workers thank you for the discussion (my favorite ; ) and support and my patients thank you for teaching me everything!
