After 2 long weeks of watching every film nominated for the Oscars in the categories I am interested in, here is my opinion on which the awards should go to. Best Directing: The Wolf of Wall Street Best Cinematography: Gravity Best Documentary feature: The Act of Killing Best Original Screen Play: Her Best Adapted Screen Play: 12 years a Slave Best Picture: Her (12 years a Slave tho) Best Actress in leading role: Meryl Streep (Sandra Bullock has a chance) Best Actress in a Supporting Role: Lupita Nyong’o Now before I choose the best actor in leading role I want to say that the fact that Leonardo DiCaprio hasn’t won an Oscar is absurd and questionable. And yes I fan girl for Leo, specifically 90’s Leo, but god damn this is the real deal here! leaving his great looks aside, Leos capability of playing a mass of different roles from a mentally retarded child to a hopeless romantic, a maniac, an obsessive desperate lover, an ambitious man, for crying out loud he did two roles in ONE movie, playing both a humble noble prince and a corrupt astute king and it was all done flawlessly. His role as Jordan Belfort was done exquisite. With that being said it leads me to the point that an Oscar being held in Leo’s hands is honorary, not him holding the Oscar. He is more than an amazing actor. He is Leonardo DiCaprio. I’m going to pretend Leo is not nominated because he murders every single actor in the charts. If there is a winner, that is not Leo, let it be Chiwetel Ejiofor. BOOM ROASTED
