After 27 years of faithful commitment, Philip and I very quietly solemnized our partnership at the foot of the Knox County Courthouse steps in Rockland, Maine one year ago today. It was both planned and spontaneous. The date was chosen for very practical reasons: a day during the month in which we traditionally celebrated our anniversary, a date we couldnt forget (a growing consideration) and a time when an officiant was available.
