After 4 rounds at the Millionaire Open, 34 players have scores of 3.0 or better in the Open section. My quick look at the standings shows that 7 of these high scorers have played in past Michigan Fall Festivals! Last round, in a thrilling match-up, GMs Alex Lenderman and Carlos Matamoros drew (they are now at 3.5, just out of the lead). Also doing quite well are GMs Gregory Kaidanov, Irina Krush, Timur Gareev, Sam Shankland and Alexander Shabalov. I am also happy to note the fine tournament that Detroits Jimmy Canty ( Canty Cash here on FB) is having. I believe he plays IM John Bartholomew (also a Fall Festival alum) in the next round.
