After 8 months of focused preparation and years of consistent training (keiko), a group of our Karate-ka from the South African Jundokan Honbu Dojo here in Durban and our branch dojos in Pretoria and Johannesburg are down to just one more training session (Thursday evening) before our SA Jundokan National Yudansha (Black Belt) Grading this Saturday (09 August 2014) here in Durban. I have trained alongside them, sweated with them, frowned at them, smiled at them and urged them on to be the best they can be for themselves, their families and our SA Jundokan organisation. They have all responded as I knew they would. THEY HAVE TRAINED CONSISTENTLY and deserve to be on that floor come Saturday! Tonight before we started training, I briefed them on what happens AFTER Black Belt, what is expected of them and how they should embrace this next step as just another milestone and persevere to improve and share their gifts with those around them. Next week, I am so hopeful to train with a new Yondan and, a couple of Sandans, Nidans and a fresh group of Shodans....tonight, I saw and more importantly, I FELT IT! Keiko! Keiko! Keiko! and without consistent and sincere Keiko NOTHING else matters!!!
