After Badminton was Aston Le Walls, where Emily was riding 3 and I - TopicsExpress

After Badminton was Aston Le Walls, where Emily was riding 3 and I was grooming! She had a great win in the OIu21 with Zara. It was a sad day as dear Archie went back to his owners for a life of semi-retirement. It was very hard saying goodbye to him. I had been riding him for 7 years and we had had such wonderful times together. 7 top 6 placings at 4 star level, team gold at the 2010 World Champs, team silver at the London Olympics, and team bronze at the 2011 European Champs. I miss him like mad, but was thrilled he finished his career fit, sound and happy. Emily and I had a dual win at Chatsworth the following weekend, me with Lottie (Kings Choice..who has now upgraded to intermediate level), and Emily on Peter (Del Piero). We went out to Tattersalls CCI in Ireland at the end of May and had great weather and plenty of Irish craic! Emily came 3rd on Zara in the CCIu25** which was very impressive, and 9th on Peter in his first CCIJ*. Lottie was also doing her first CCI*, she was a bit keen in her dressage but jumped superbly and ended on her dressage score just finishing in the prize money :-) We had mixed fortunes at Bramham Horse Trials. I had to pull up Jay half way around the XC as he was being too strong and dangerous, but Emily went brilliantly across country with dear Brookleigh - clear and in the time and finished 8th which was her best placing so far at 3 star level. Tess has produced an embryo by Future Gravitis and the recipient mare has scanned in foal, hurray! She has been AIed with Cevin Z so fingers crossed she produces another embryo. Just picked up a super duper new replacement Mitsubishi Outlander, thank you to Mitsubishi for your sponsorship.
