After Charles posted his thoughts on a horribly biased and confounding New York Times article about Shonda Rhimes, I read it and was dumbfounded. It began with a statement both vile and false and then concluded with a sentiment that was putrid and condescending. It is a classic example of how a racial stereotype informs our views if we dont pause to make sense of them. The NYT article by a TV critic actually links Shonda and the First Lady in their angry black woman denials and implies that at least Shonda is showing her true colors. One emotion doesnt define a race of women and to hold some subjective test about whos holding it in and whos not is ... infuriating. Vox has a pretty good response. If you find the NYT piece read it and experience just how clunky and insulting the writers logic truly is. Im not posting it.
