After I finished a cell phone conversation outside on the driveway, I stopped to observe Dominic practicing in the piano room--stalker style outside the window. :) Watching him and listening to him stirred this thought in me . . . My aim is that my children are better than I am in every aspect of life. My oldest child, Dominic, already is better than I am in so many ways; especially the traits, the virtues, that matter most. I dont want him to be me, ever. I want him to be himself. I will never make excuses for my childrens bad behavior; nor take credit for their accomplishments. But, I will take the blame. Because, I am responsible for directing them toward the good and to show them what is good. And if I do it properly, then they will want to choose the good because the bad will not be desirable. Logic and reason demand an eternal place for those who seek the good. And logic and reason demand an eternal place for those who seek to undermine what is good. In the end everyone gets what they want. Everyone chooses his or her afterlife. Reason and logic also demand that as well. People who love good get to spend eternity with those who also love what is good. Those who do not like what is good get to spend with those who are of like mind. Lastly, I love the language of music. :) What we do in life . . . echoes in eternity.
