After a LONG hot shower, I gulped my rum and coke and am now awaitng my steak supper like a pharoah awaiting embalming. Naked and feeling dead. My lovely lady who doesnt believe me when I say Im going to do something someday, nagged me relentlessly every three months until I couldnt stand it any more. Yesterday, I moved the two filing cabinets, the 4X5X3 safe, the gun cabinet, the computer set up, the stuff on the walls, and the blinds out of the office. Alone. Was she satified? NO! She wanted the floor protected and the cracks in the wall fixed before I paint the office and hall. So this morning, bright and ugly, I dragged my ancient carcass out of bed, fed and medicined the dogs and then made breakfast. She didnt even let me enjoy a second cup of coffee before she kicked me off face book and put me to work. Luckily, she only insisted that I do the cracks that went through the wall. (Pictures follow.) She let me use my DeWalt construction hammer, which was fun. At first. At 20 lbs., it soon got to be more than this old Gringo could easily handle. But she wanted all the breaking done today. After lunch, NEEDED a nap. 15 minutes in the hammock asleep. As I drifted off, SOMEONE, (un-named, but a member of the household) sat near me with the binoculars screaming with delight every time she saw something, which was every time I approached sleep. I should have left my earplugs in. I gave up and returned to the front. At 1830 the wall was mostly finished and so was I. Thank God, because I may not be able to lift my arms for a week let alone the DeWalt. Tomorrow she only wants me to weld the additional foundations to the window bars, make forms, cut and form the rebar, mix concrete and fill the holes. Should be finished by 12. Midnight. Damn that woman is mean! She just brought my suppet! BBQ ribs, baked potato, corn on the cob, wine, and salad. As man whose idea of a sizzling steak is that it should only stop sizzling when the last piece is placed in the mouth, this presents a delimma. What to eat first and what to eat cold. I solved it by letting everything get cold while I finished this. Damn shes mean
