After a LOT of reflection, I realize that WRMC did a lot of good - TopicsExpress

After a LOT of reflection, I realize that WRMC did a lot of good takin care. The nurses and staff were outstanding. I was thrown a curve of a third surgery in as many days and then was told that he would get in almost immediately but then had to wait hours. I think Dr. Brown was wrong to make us wait for as long as he did considering we were under the impression that Charles would get in as soon as he was done with the quick surgery he was in the middle of. If he knew it was going to be a while, I could have adjusted my thinking. I kept thinking any minute. If he went to eat, great. Just give us the heads up. As it was, it was around 4 that I got to eat something for the first time that day, was scared, and had had to watch my husband scream in pain for hours. I felt completely helpless. Yes, doctors are notorious for making people wait. Waiting is fine. Being lied to is not. The icing was getting chided by the doctor when I requested Charles be kept overnight. He thought my request was ridiculous. He wasnt there for the hours of screaming even with a remarkable amount of pain medication. The only time he saw him was when he was knocked out. When he started raising his voice I asked him if he was REALLY going to speak to me that way. His reply was that he certainly was. All in all, I think that Dr. Brown is fairly knowledgeable in his field, but may suck as a person. Who raises his voice at a scared and crying wife? While I disagree with his demeanor, I will give him the benefit of the doubt that maybe he just had a bad day too. I will play nice because frankly, I dont have a choice. Dr. Brown will be performing yet another procedure on the 24th. Rant over.
