After a chat with an hysterical mother yesterday, I sat down this - TopicsExpress

After a chat with an hysterical mother yesterday, I sat down this morning and wrote the outline for The Meth Mom Emergency Handbook. By the time a mom (or dad) learns of their childs predicament, its often too late to educate yourself fully with the prevailing info. There is a really good book by David Sheff, Clean. Overcoming Addiction and Ending Americas Greatest Tragedy. However, its not a quick and easy read, its filled with statistics and lots of other great info, but nothing to help someone is in the heat of the moment, someone who has to gear up and head out quickly in order to save the life of their child. In other words, this is all I have learned since Stephen died, all I experienced before he died and the insights I have been lead me to since. That mom last night did not like what I had to say. Its not pretty, there is no easy answers and getting out of denial quickly is the only way to get to timely action. The shock of someone telling you the truth right up front might help. I sure hope so, because thats all Ive got. So I guess Ill begin organizing my writing in this direction. Might as well, there are certainly enough people in need of what I know, what Ive discovered. And, in the end, it may or may not help. Meth is the most horrible drug there ever was, so horrible that no one wants to deal with it at all. That has to stop or this epidemic will crush us.
