After a couple of appts. This week we had good results. We visited Randys surgeon on Friday and he was so proud to see us he literally could not believe we were there. Let me tell you its a GREAT feeling to walk into a surgeons office and him say he cant believe your alive! I must admit had i truly known how scared he was I might have thought about not going through with the surgery. But, Randy put his faith in God and the dr and look what results we got. The dr and his nurses all looked at us telling us Randy is a miracle I say he is a testimony of prayers and Gods work simple as that. Yes, we knew this was dangerous but nowhere near the odds but with your faith in God you can come through never give up drs or people dont decide your fate. Just like the surgeon is so pleased he truly never expected Randy to survive or be doing as well as he is. We still have a long road we are not cancer free due to the one lymph node that was involved and we start making plans next week with our oncologist and gastroenterologist to come up with a plan this will likely be a aggressive chemo so that we can kill off any cancer that may have stayed behind because we do not want it spreading or getting into our new throat. This will be harder on Randy due to the fact hes been through so much with surgery and the first rounds of chemo and radiation he is not anywhere near up to being his old self but hes trying this can be depressing and trying but he was able to get out this week and drive to the job and visit with the guys and he really enjoyed this. He still tires super easy and has some breathing issues from the collapsed lung but its getting better. Were kind of bummed because our chemo will begin around Thanksgiving and be through the holidays but were thankful on the same note to be able to be getting this 2 nod chance because so many are not. He is doing better with his eating he can only eat 4 or 5 bites at a time and drink a few oz here and there but has maintained enough so far not to have his feed tube put in he has lost 15 lbs post op but one good thing is him being larger he isnt in as much danger loosing this weight it actually is good for him as long as its not too much too fast. Hes getting braver about trying to eat some days it works some days it doesnt we just keep trying. He will have a good day then choke at night and it takes me days to get him to try again so please pray this gets better. Once we get his bed situation resolved I think it will help a lot with his fears.
