After a couple of decades travelling from the US to Yala every year, I decided to travel to Kenya instead. I was pleasantly surprised to see a much organized system, with vehicles truly respecting wildlife by keeping a safe distance, and more importantly drivers respecting other visitors and giving everyone an opportunity at photography and not blocking anyone. I wonder how long it would take Yala to be like this? I found the cost to be less than travelling to Sri Lanka (including airfare) and I got to see the big 5 and much, much more. I had my own safari Landcruiser and driver so that I could spend however long I wanted in one place. I loved it so much that I will return to Kenya for a longer stay in a few months, and will probably make it an annual pilgrimage.
