After a day full of cleaning and organizing the last think I felt like doing was cooking dinner. So we opted for a whole grain bagel and a smoothie. It may have been SUPER simple and basic but we still got lots of nutrition given that our smoothie included: 2% Greek yogurt which offers up lots of calcium and a good dose of protein a bit of vanilla yogurt for sweetness canned pumpkin fresh spinach frozen berries and skim Milk ( I typically add chia seeds or hemp seeds but I forgot this time round!) Ever tried canned pumpkin in a smoothie? It adds thickness and lots of nutrition without adding flavor. Pumpkin can also be a great addition to spaghetti sauce, french toast mixture and muffins if you want to boost the nutritional value of your foods. (It can be used in place of 1/2 the fat in muffins) What do you like to put in your smoothies?
