After a day of sparkling sunshine and a night of crystal clear - TopicsExpress

After a day of sparkling sunshine and a night of crystal clear coldness, its a strange kind of morning - still carrying the cold of the night, but now the sky is striped and striated by a kind of marbled haze - thin and pearly white in places, deepening to a soft, downy grey further west, but thin and threadbare enough to let the pale azure infinity beyond show through almost everywhere... Its all sliding slowly southwards, driven by a high northerly wind thats no doubt responsible for the seasonal chill, and as I write, its also shepherding some thicker, billowed clumps of grey into view - still thin enough to allow glimpses of the deepening blue beyond, but distinctly heavier and more substantial looking than before... But its still quite beautiful in its own way - theres an air of serenity and calm, if cold, clarity to it... Not having watched any forecasts last night, Im guessing that itll probably be like this all day - patches of cloud followed by more or less clear sky - and if were lucky, maybe even some sunshine now and then... Here below, the air seems to be moving in the opposite direction to the clouds above, which adds to the slight strangeness of the morning - it looks for all the world as if there are two distinct layers of air to the morning - the fitful light gusts here on the ground really do seem to be coming from the south-west - but maybe thats just a localised swirl to show off natures caprices - wind-borne trickery and mischief... But hey! Its saturday, and theres a distinct holiday feel to things - lets all get out there and enjoy the seasons frolics and fun! Its the solstice tomorrow, after all, and each day gets a little longer from here on out! :¬}
