After a few tries this month, this baby pilot was finally able to get up and find some smooth air below some clouds to fly in for about an hour yesterday. My logbook is finally getting to be worth something more than just its weight in paper! While that fog had me grounded a bit in October, yesterday turned out beautifully! Keith at Northwest Flight School took me out to the practice area just south of KGEG and he taught me a little about the using the trim, elevators, and rutters to hold a heading, make a turn and hold an altitude. It was all a little too much for my brain to comprehend at first... and then I got on the ground and tried to steer the plane with the yoke. My feet, hands, and brain were just about sick of me by the end of all that. We are hoping to get back at it for a little bit tomorrow, so if you see a C172 flying around with its nose bobbing up and down, youll know who that is. ;) -Larae
