After a five hour bus drive on Tuesday (Sept. 16, 2014) we arrived at Laurel Cavern’s southeast of Pittsburgh Penn. Everyone was eager to get caving. After a classroom instruction session, and after adjusting their hard hats, they climbed into the cave and “squeezed” into a three hour adventure. Parts of the trail included climbing down or sometimes up through crevasses. It also included crawling through water as they squeezed through crevasses. There were open areas to regroup. I understand everyone had a great time, with some commenting that the three hour adventure seemed like only 20 minutes.... it went by too quickly. We posed for a group photo to show off our clothing. After caving we drove a few minutes to the Lodge at Chalk Hill, PA. Everyone was glad to shower and dress into warm cloths. A pizza supper was held at the campfire site by a small lake. Following supper we sang and had worship together with a thought presented by Matheus Silva. A spontaneous talent show of 7 - 8 specials followed. The evening ended with smors.
