After a long day at work. my husband and I decided to meet up to do our grocery shopping for the month this evening. Since Winn Dixie is close to our home, we decided to just do it there. We arrive and picked up all of our needed items. After about an hour, we were happy to be done and ready to check out. We go to a register and the young lady rudely say Im closed. So, we looked around for more registers and everybody was supposedly closed except for the 20 and under lane. So, we stated someone will have to check us out so we can leave. We had a ton of groceries. Nobody was willing to check us out...mind you its nowhere near store closing at this time. So finally, one cashier goes and changes the 20 and under lane sign to a regular lane then the cashier there states...what you want me to take them? She was very hesitant so finally we say since nobody wants to check us out we will leave and not purchase the groceries. Of course, I couldnt leave until we reported the incident because change doesnt take place unless someone is aware of the poor customer service. We asked for the manager and explained our experience. She said she could check us out but we still declined at that time. She apologized and said she would pull the recording. After, we left we realized that convenience is not always best. I am not putting all Winn Dixie stores down but now my husband and I realize why people are willing to pay more at places like Publix, Trader Joes, Fresh Market and Whole Foods Market.
