After a lot of scroll through FiA na! And o boy! 60% say Recess! Chal! We finally ended up at Hotel Armoise. Located strategically at a place with very little options for a different visual experience, Recess is a great change! The interiors seem to have been done by a ManUTD fan! Loads of Red ( devilness 3:) ) and black, the Mario Miranda wall (reminded me of Mondys!!), a projector (currently playing avicii and the likes, hopefully they start screening matches soon though!), bar-stools and comfy-snug-fit chairs. Although, they could do with toning the light down a bit. On entering, the smell of coffee did seem significant. We found ourselves a table next to what seemed like the Recess-photo-booth-seat. Chilled water served within minutes (its not supposed to be impressive, but since some places lack these basics, we couldnt help but notice). Interesting 90s-NewYork Times-looking menu with a good number of options. Since we were too stuffed with a lavish indian spread, decided to call for something not too filling (or so we thought! ) - Toblerone Shake : 9/10. The glass it was served in, was not the usual thick shake glass, different. Good different. The shake was nice and chocolatieey with huge (yes, huge enough to not fit in a kfc-thick-straw!) Chunks of the chocolate sitting at the bottom of the glass. Slurped the shake just to excavate this treasure! Absolutely worth it! The glass couldve been bigger though, or probably thats just me being really hopeful.. Must-Try. - Lemon-Iced tea : 6/10 Well, the iced tea was as icy as it could get, in a manner so welcoming in this confused weather outside. However, it missed the tang of a fresh lemon wedge or freshly crushed mint leaves. If you like yours just how we do, feel free to suggest these additions when you order one and youll be sorted! - Veg Kebab Kathi : 7/10. This was more of a desi-flavored wrap with julienned onions and capsicum and loads of paneer (lacked the kebab though :/ ). A very filling portion, this. The Amdavadi in me did scream amaa thodi cheese hot toh majhaa aai jaat! Then I guess it would lose its unique flavor. The pudina chutney that accompanied it was also very well balanced and creamy! We did call for pancakes as well, dint enjoy it as much but as rightly acknowledged and mentioned by the management, that these are mere teething issues that would be rectified soon. Very well-charted menu and good vegetarian options. Definitely going for more, especially the ambiance-building coffee. Recess, open from 7am through 1am, seems to be yet another late-night-spot. Good value for money and great staff that welcomes you with a smile (always a plus) Cheers to All the fellow Foodaholics who suggested this place. Happy Eatin! p.s - looking forward to watching a football match here. A perfect place for it!
