After a mad dash to Marievale on the East Rand near Nigel on - TopicsExpress

After a mad dash to Marievale on the East Rand near Nigel on Sunday 26th October with the Waderquest team, the Pectoral Sandpiper reported earlier in the day remained visible in the distance through the scope and was difficult to pick up let alone photograph. Returning to the spot again this lunch time was fruitful as the bird was found quietly foraging in the mud flats on the left hand side of the road at -26.361274, 28.511856 as reported by Dylan Vasapolli. Many thanks to David Snow who helped us find the bird amongst many Ruff, Little Stint & Wood Sandpiper. It would appear to favour this spot of the Reserve in the mornings. :) Wader No: 24 for the year and another really special one to visit our inland waters.
