After a night of no sleep I am sitting I transit at the Jakarta airport. I didnt have a chance to take out cash before I left, so I thought I would just get cash on my card at the airport. I tried three different bank machines and none would accept my Citibank card and I got a message on my last try that my card was locked because of too many attempts to withdraw money. I called Citibank, explained my situation and I was told (or so I thought) that they would email me a temporary pin. It never arrived. when I phoned back I found out that the temp pin was being sent in mail to Washington, D.C. (A huge help to me sitting broke on my way to Sumatra) I explained the situation again to the rep., but she said there was nothing she could do to help me. I then spoke with a manager named Season. To stress the urgency of the situation, I explained to her that I have NO money at all. Her suggestion, was a flippant, Cant you use you credit card to buy food? Maybe I can be like that that guy in the Tom Hanks movie that lives in the airport, I can just keep charging food on my Citibank card! I wish I could rip up all the Citibank cards I own!
