After a rough start to the day, my lil mommy ended up having a very good day yesterday, thank God. Things have been so up and down with her since Nov. 1, but yesterday was definitely up. She ate a good breakfast, cleaned up, did well in therapy, ate a good dinner, stayed up all day, mostly in the wheelchair, almost entirely lucid. We had the care conference in the afternoon, and found out that she may in fact be released next Monday instead of Dec. 2. We realized well need to get Mom a hospital bed, which the social worker here will put in process. So its a good thing we started inquiring right away about folks who might be willing to take my parents king size bed, to make room for the hospital bed. When I went to their home to take a few hours nap, I took and texted photos of the bed to their friend Sandy, and within hours we had a taker who will come with a truck tomorrow to pick it up. I removed all the bedding to get it ready for pickup, knowing that this is the end of an era... Good thing I have photos of it. I returned to find Mom in good shape and in good humor. I was able to transfer her myself to the portable commode and into the bed before I went for my nap, and we just managed another trip a few minutes ago. She and I make a good team. :-) So far so good. So grateful to God.
