After a thorough study about SADC I have decided to at least visit one country each year starting from this year. I will raise funds and I will use public transport. My first stop will be Zimbabwe later this year. I want to have a better understanding of socioeconomic and political dynamics in the region. I will starve myself to achieve this goal. I dont want to fall for trap of stereotype that Zimbabwe is very poor and that people in Swaziland are in peace. I want to meet young people who are fighting the tyranny and unjust system of King Mswati in Swaziland. I want to walk down the streets of Malawi that President Zuma once talked about. I want to drink nice tea in Kenya and have time to ask more about Ngugi Wa Thiongos writings. I want to feel the cold breeze down in the mountains of Lesotho. I want to walk days without water in the desert of Namibia. Most importantly I want to go visit Vanwanati clan in Mozambique down in Gaza District and reunite with my roots. I want to understand the trade deals that are happing in Delagoa Bay. I would love to chill and relax in the beach and enjoy the sunshine on my back. These trips will enhance my understanding and my knowledge about Southern community.
