After a very long night of tough negotiations with The Star-Ledger we came to to terms on 4 year contract. When we started these negotiations nine months ago the company asked for 55% of package back or the would shut the new paper down at the end of this year. While we did have to make some concession for the the company to stay in business. We did not lose very much of our total package. Unfortunately some of our fellow pressman will be leaving us we were able to get a very good severance package for them to leave with while they look for employment. I have to say I am very proud of the the men who were part our negotiation committee.
