After a week being a vegan, I have the following observations. 1. It is not THAT hard to do this, but planning helps. I am not too good at food planning. 2. You can find vegan choices at almost every restaurant, especially if you are not freaked out by a tiny speck of fish sauce. During the week, I ate at two vegetarian places (Pepper Tree and Madras) and a Japanese place (Azuma), Asian (Kim Son), and Italian (Brio). I did well at all of them. Also, if I need something quick, Amys makes several frozen items that are vegan and that taste great. 3. Its the dairy and cheese tat seems to be sneaking in a lot of things. 4. I like not being worried about protein and being able to eat healthy carbs. I am still on the program. I think my Dr will tell me I need to cut back on fats and portions, but lets do one change at a time, ok? How do I feel? I dont honestly feel much different, but I believe that what I have eaten has been healthier and that I will feel better in time. Using the journaling app One Day has been good for tracking my food. Here are a few pics from the week.
