After all the articles, posts, etc. about ISIS and the consequences of arming rebels, I admit I was stunned to hear only a few days later that Obama was asking Congress for $500 million to help “train and equip appropriately vetted elements of the moderate Syrian armed opposition”. I really thought it was a joke. Do we want to arm one of the many scattered and diverse groups fighting Assad, or the ones who bombed ISIS in Iraq. Oh wait! That was Assad who did that, the Syrian military.
