After an absence of several weeks, I have returned to Facebook, but only briefly. Essentially, I am back for three purposes: First, I am profoundly moved, profoundly humbled, and profoundly grateful for the absolute avalanche of birthday greetings that I have received. Your kindness, good wishes, and support make the concept of 66 going on 67 that much more palatable and exhilarating. I have reached the age at which my motto is: Better over the hill than under it! Second, I have returned to Facebook for the limited purpose of being able to update the Towe on Thursday Facebook fan page directly and to qualify a couple of other individuals as Editors of the Towe on Thursday Facebook fan page in my absence. Apart from those two reasons, my posts to Facebook for the foreseeable future are likely to be limited to those posts that are automatic forwards from Foursquare. Occasionally, I may upload of photos of culinary and gastronomic succulence and photos and videos of special events or individuals. Apart from such posts, henceforth, when it comes to Facebook, I shall be following the eloquent lead of Samuel Goldwyn: Include me out! I will save the third reason for my brief return to Facebook for a separate status update.
