After arriving back home in Belgium and taking some good rest, - TopicsExpress

After arriving back home in Belgium and taking some good rest, lets try to share the great time I had in Taiwan these last days. WARNING: THIS IS GOING TO BE A LONG ONE! I was gifted with the opportunity to perform 5 concerts in different cities in this unique and wonderful country, inside the program of TAIWAN INTERNATIONAL PERCUSSION CONVENTION which happens to be the biggest and most important percussion festival on earth. Apart from the great honor to be given this chance to perform there as a professional musician, it was also a chance to get to know a lot more (it was my second tour in the country) about this great country and its amazingly wonderful people. Important also to say that it reminds me a lot of my country, Brazil, with its warm weather and a welcoming attitude that makes you rethink a lot of concepts in your life. Yes, it was very busy and very demanding! But I have to mention the unbelievably nice atmosphere created by everyone involved in the festival, the direction, the interpreters, staff, crew, sound technicians and also the fellow musicians performing inside the program, making us feel the whole time like wanting to perform more and give our best. And it happened! It will be difficult here to give an idea of the kind of attention and care that these people provided us with, not only as professionals but also as good friends that we became so quickly. I had also the chance to realize that something very big is going on in this country. Taiwan shows culture and art everywhere and they are willing to get a lot bigger than that, what I had the chance to realize after, for example, performing at Kaohsiung Wei-Wu-Ying Center for the Arts, where they are building this unbelievable music hall and center for the arts. A big priority is being given to culture and arts in the country. I personally believe that this is what brings us together, sharing our art, our music, our culture through such important events that certainly make our world a better place to live. Then I would like to thank everyone from TIPC for having us there and teaching us so much! And hoping that we meet soon again! OBRIGADO!!!
