After attending a presentation at the local synagogue promoting Creativity for Peace, Im more convinced than ever that it is another manifestation of the Peace Industry as the piece below about a similar organization, Seeds of Peace describes. Think about it, if it had any ability to challenge those who hold power in Israel, the event would not have been held in our synagogue which does not have a local history of supporting BDS, restorative justice (right of return), equality between and within any two state solution or the vision of a one democratic state. One of the people helping set up for the speakers happened to be a person who referred to us as the local jihadist lobby in a published Register Guard letter. These programs are not designed to lead to action for a just peace, but rather to pacification of the occupied and supporters of the occupied - a potentially activist population - both here and in Israel. Its quite frightening to me as these talks will be promoted in high schools without the historical context or resource materials students would need to make an educated choice as to how to get involved in human rights advocacy should they choose to do so. Beware. This could be coming to your city soon. electronicintifada.net/content/can-we-talk-middle-east-peaceMindustry/8402
