After being diagnosed with throat cancer in March 2008, Ray Coates like millions of others began the arduous treatment to overcome the disease (He virtually lost the ability to speak for a year). Six years to the day of my first surgery to remove the tumour, I released the single The Voice Within (written by myself and Glyn Devey). The song is dedicated to all those who have been affected by the disease; the families of the sufferers, survivors, medical professionals and those who have sadly lost their battle to cancer.
