The celebration is known in Arabic as Mawlid al-Nabi مَولِد النَّبِي during which street processions are held and homes and mosques are decorated. It is a time of sharing food, kindness and gathering. Stories about the life of Prophet Muhammad are narrated and devotional poetry is recited. These festivities is expression of love for the Prophet may he rest in peace and may we honour and spread his message of peace and love.
