After certain comments about my poetry on a public group recently, I decided that the best answer was to carry on being a tedious twat and post some more. The below song was inspired by the article in the link, from an in flight mag on Norwegian Airlines. My own view is that I throw these out there and you can appreciate, criticise, ignore or block as you see fit. You are entitled to your opinion. But I wont attach much if any value to your opinion if you make negativity an art form. https://norwegian/magazine/features/2014/07/how-not-to-wreck-the-sea 25 July 2014 REEFS OF THE FUTURE And here about to plunge My body warmed by the sun I’ll dive and find a wreck But does diving float a cheque And on the ship that didn’t sink Under water that will shimmer All the fish stocks on the brink But in your eyes I see a glimmer And that trawler that set sail Always filled its nets with fish Sunken numbers have a scale And ironic sailors have their wish And when I’m immersed in surf I swim down to the earth To a wreck that’s full of life Reef of the future comes alive And the ship we scuttled to the brine Down through bright blue water I guess that statement will define How we reversed our slaughter And the divers sit on starboard Gazing at the surface of the sea And nature is a dark force But under water they are free I’ve plunged below the depths On a thousand sea worn wrecks But now I see tomorrow And the reefs of the future I’ve explored the scuttled ships And watched the muttering lips But now I see tomorrow In the reefs of the future We’ll sink the ships of yesterday But the rhetoric will always say With eyes so full of sorrow History isn’t yours to change But as the ocean fights decay Reefs of the future on display With time we can only borrow History is ours to arrange
