After checking that she was basically sound I stripped her down and removed her consul, hatches and tubes. The more I examined her the more I realised the remarkable standard of workmanship in her construction.I contacted Simon Mc Laughlin at C-fury and he was a mine of information and help,he told me that the stainless hydrofoil was hand honed and cost big bucks I sanded and faired the hull and gave it four coats of Internationals best. The detachable tapered tubes were in great condition but I attached a D section rubbing stake to assist spray deflection. I fitted an 85 hp Yamaha Origin 2 stoke,no bells or whistles just honest bomb-proof engineering, its pre- mix so I know it wont blow up! I changed the three blade prop.for a four blade, this gives instant grip and no cavitation. Son Ross made me a stainless A-frame (its handy owning a scrap yard!) I increased the battery size and moved it under the seat I fitted Sea-star hydraulic steering. Made a screen from on off-cut of some fantastic German polycarbonate, added LED nav.lights,VHF & a Raymarine Dragonfly sounder/plotter.finally I gave her her name Grey Goose During sea trials I kept sliding back on the tandem seat,so I made a detachable top box to hold me forwards, works a treat. I have Four bladder tanks one forward tank and the original inbuilt tank.total capacity 140lts more that enough for a decent expedition. She has an aluminium trailer and launched very easily. All in all she is great fun and shows that you dont have to spend a fortune to enjoy our great sport of Ribbing
