After dashing across from the Cartshed Lodge in the November - TopicsExpress

After dashing across from the Cartshed Lodge in the November drizzle, our proud Father of the Bride enjoyed every second of accompanying his radiant daughter down the aisle towards her future husband yesterday. Bride, Leah, looked incredible in her open backed lace gown with ivory ribbon detail and gorgeous glitzy hair piece. With three lovely Bridesmaids in full length sage green; dusky pink bow ties for the gents; and bouquets of vintage pinks and greens, this was a bridal party with a wow! Leah and Mark exchanged vows in front of their nearest and dearest and enjoyed a beautiful ceremony complete with the rings making an accidental early appearance and the giggles that followed! As the new Mr and Mrs Kemp made their way back down the aisle, the weather held out long enough for guests to enjoy their warm winter Pimm’s on the terrace while having group photographs taken. It was back inside for canapés and mingling ahead of Father of the Groom inviting guests to take their seats for the wedding breakfast. As guests left their cards in a gorgeous vintage suitcase provided by Nanny Titlow, they were also able to leave a video message for our lovely couple with words of wisdom for their big day. Centrepieces of jam jars filled with loose flowers in shades of pink and green gave the Barn a distinctive vintage feel which was beautifully accented by the place cards all lovingly hand made by members of the bridal party. Each card was hand written and adorned with a vintage brooch that Leah had spent months collecting from various places, to stunning effect. What an original idea and a fabulous favour! After Nanny Titlow gave grace, a starter of brie wedges was served followed by the delicious ‘three little pigs’ and a refreshing lemon posset with Southwood lavender shortbread to finish. With glasses charged it was time for the speeches. Mark’s father continued with his master of ceremonies duties and introduced Leah’s father who spoke of how proud he is of both Leah and Mark before the Groom thanked everyone for sharing this special day with he and his new wife. Mark’s three musketeers spoke next and shared a few tales of the stag do (but were convinced not to share the photos on the big screen)! The wonderful cake was made from scratch by Leah and her new mother in law and was an absolute triumph! Once the couple had posed for photos cutting the cake it was time to share their first dance as a married couple before partying to The Joe Ringer Band. Yesterday also saw a sneaky first appearance of the new ‘Southwood sausage sizzle’ ahead of the 2015 catering guide being published. It was a huge hit as people grabbed their choice of sausage flavour and homemade relishes and stood around the charcoals or returned to the party. All in all Leah and Mark enjoyed a fantastic chilled out day filled with emotion, fun and friends and partied hard into the night as Husband and Wife. We hope you enjoy your adventurous honeymoon back packing around Thailand and we can’t wait to see the photos!
