After decades of being mediocre to poor at school, i finally nailed it here at Thai cooking school. Of course being the perpetually infantile nincompoop that I am I got competitive with an Australian Rugby player named Landis about who could add the most peppers to their Tom Yum and I ended up creating a traditional Thai soup that was savory and flavorful; but while stoically slurping it down it felt like I was leaning over on a speeding scooter and dragging my tongue along the pavement-- which created its own pain but also aggravated the angry hornets that i felt were stuffed in my stupid mouth.
