It will employ more than 300 workers. Pine Hill was hungry for jobs and unemployment remains high: jobs that pay $15 an hour are few and far between, says a local official, reacting to the factory opening. And Pine Hill is not alone: Chinese firms now employ more than 70,000 U.S. workers and Chinese companies invested a record $14 billion in the U.S. last year.
